Format

The MSSCM program offers two formats – providing the maximum flexibility for working professionals. A 19 month program is offered that runs from May of the entering year to December of the 2nd year of the program. An extended format is also available – adding one additional semester to complete the online coursework. All students in each cohort (whether in the 19 month or extended option) attend the same summer in-residency sessions. A total of 12 credits are taken each summer, 6 credits each session. Students attend in-residency sessions for two consecutive summers.

For students without the necessary undergraduate business background, the program requires additional classes/modules to be taken in accounting, finance and marketing. These requirements are met through a blend of full semester online courses and more condensed online programs.

All students are offered the opportunity to take classes that focus on their particular area of interest in SCM. We offer four tracks – logistics, operations management, procurement and railway management. This track option is available during the second summer semester – the May session. Other than this one session variation, all students take the same three types of classes:

  • In-residence classes held during (4) 12 day periods at the Henry Center for Executive Development (24 credits)
  • E-learning (on-line) classes (7 credits)
  • A field study/research project the application of material in the program. Students are encouraged to focus their research on an area of interest or problem situation at their workplace. (5 credits)

This schedule is the hallmark of a truly world class program – providing instructor/student face-to-face interaction through our in-residency classes while making it “doable” for working students by structuring 1/3 of the credits on-line.
