Dr. David Closs, MSU Supply Chain Management Department Chair

Dr. David J. Closs is the John H. McConnell Chaired Professor of Business Administration in the Department of Supply Chain Management at Michigan State University. Dr. Closs completed his MBA and Ph.D. at Michigan State in 1978 focusing on the topics of marketing, logistics and management science.

Dr. Adrian-ChooDr. Adrian Choo

Dr. Adrian Choo is an Assistant Professor of Operations Management at Michigan State University. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics and a Master of Science in Management from the National University of Singapore, and a PhD in Business Administration from the University of Minnesota.

Andreas Hoffrichter Dr. Andreas Hoffrichter

Dr. Andreas Hoffrichter is the Executive Director of Railway Management Programs. Dr. Hoffrichter has a master degree in Railway Systems Engineering and Integration from the University of Birmingham, England. He also received his Ph.D. from Birmingham.

  • Railway Vehicle Propulsion Systems, including alternative prime movers, fuels, and emissions
  • Railway Systems Engineering, Integration, and Management
  • Railway Operations, both freight and passenger
  • Role of the railway in the supply chain or the passenger’s journey

  • Evaluation of alternative propulsion systems for railway vehicles, including hybrids, discontinuous electrification, hydrogen fuel cells and associated energy supply chain

 

Brain Jacobs Dr. Brian Jacobs

Brian is an Associate Professor of Operations Management at Michigan State University. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering Systems from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a PhD in Business Administration from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

She earned from Master’s in Quantitative Analysis and her Ph.D in Operations Management both from the University of Cincinnati.

Dr. Tobias Schoenherr

Dr. Tobias Schoenherr is an Associate Professor of Sourcing at Michigan State University. Dr. Schoenherr holds a Ph.D. in Operations Management and Decision Sciences from Indiana University, Bloomington, from where he also obtained his B.Sc. and M.B. He also holds a Diplom-Betriebswirt (FH) from the European School of Business, Reutlingen University, Germany, and is an APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP).
